Just because it was Jim & Janet's last week in Ireland with us didn't mean that we slowed down :)
Kate had been taking a 6 week after school Irish dancing class. This was their last class and the teacher was nice enough to allow me and Janet to come in and watch the last little bit of it.
Luke was so tired Monday evening that he curled up in his chair toward the end of dinner and fell asleep!
Tuesday morning Luke took Grammy to his school to meet his teacher and see his classroom.
Later that afternoon, they got to see Kate's classroom and meet her teacher, Ms. Devane.
And Jack got to show them his classroom and they met his teacher, Ms. Dooley.
Wednesday morning after we took Jack and Kate to school, we headed south to Glendalough. We drove through the Wicklow Mountains along the way and came across this herd of deer!
Glendalough is an early Medieval monastic settlement founded in the 6th century by St Kevin.
As we were walking to the Upper Lake we saw this deer and Luke was especially excited because he could actually see this one because it was close!
Where there is wildlife, these two will find it!
look at this branch!
It was worn smooth on top where so many people have sat on it.

He finally caved and bought himself a hat! (ok, so Janet and I were totally behind it!)
On the way home, we came across another herd of deer.
Janet wanted to see the Waterford Crystal Factory while she was here. So Thursday morning we drove 1 1/2 hours south to tour it. We were able to make these day trips due to the help of our sitter Miquela and her mom Denise. They picked up Jack and Kate from school and kept them until we made it back.
They are putting the handle on this pitcher.
While we were watching the above guys, I look over and this is what I see. He was completely in awe while watching them!

Reginald's Tower - it is a circular defense tower set in Waterford City's historic Viking Triangle. It was built at the beginning of the 13th century.
On Friday, Jim had a "playdate". Our landlord's father is a retired farmer. So our neighbor Beatrice, who is our landlord's sister-in-law, arranged to have Eddie take Jim around his farm.

We had one worn out little girl on Friday night!
Ireland's rugby team was playing Italy in the 6-Nations Tournament in Dublin on Saturday. But that didn't stop us from heading into the city to do some sightseeing.
First stop - the Natural History Museum
After lunch we walked over to St. Patrick's Cathedral.
Jimmy found it funny that the collection container for the organ is a Guinness keg.
When finished up at the Cathedral, Jimmy wanted to meet up with some guys from work at a pub nearby to watch some more of the 6-Nations games. So he and Jim went off to find them and Janet, the kids and I headed home.
Since we didn't make it to the Guinness Storehouse on Saturday, we went on Sunday afternoon.

At the top of the Storehouse is a bar with a 360 degree view of Dublin.
With your ticket, you can trade it in for a pint of Guinness (or in the case of the kids, a coke!)
Alright, alright Jimmy I'll try it.....eh.....
Monday was a day just relaxing at home and Jim and Janet getting ready to fly back to NM the next day.
The hedges near our house were being trimmed so Jim went to watch.
Tuesday morning, one last picture! - We enjoyed our visit with Jim and Janet. We kept them pretty busy so we were hoping they would be able to get some sleep on the airplane....no such luck! :)
